Learn about the designer behind the designs

This is your go-to spot to discover a bit about the person behind the design and to get a snapshot of my biography as it tells my story of how I ended up doing instructional design.

I am an eLearning developer and instructional designer specializing in creating engaging online learning content and designing practical instructional courses for digital platforms.

I began my career in the corporate sector at Bank of America in the early 1990s as a Bankruptcy Claims Clerk. I advanced through roles within the department, including Charge-Off Clerk and Coordinator (Assistant Supervisor). I ultimately served as a New Employee Onboarding Trainer, responsible for training new hires in the bankruptcy department.

I have held diverse roles that have strengthened my skills in client interaction, financial management, and training. My background includes working as an Income Maintenance Caseworker for the Department of Health and Human Services, where I interviewed applicants for food assistance. I also served as a Payroll Clerk for a Native-owned company and an Accounts Receivables Clerk for Baptist Children’s Homes. Furthermore, I worked as a missionary educator with By Faith Christian School, a girls' home ministry, where I discovered my passion for teaching and pursued a bachelor’s and master’s degree in education.

Recognizing the shift toward online education, I explored instructional design and eLearning. I earned an Instructional Design and Tech Accelerator certificate with The Instructional Design Company, where I gained expertise in eLearning course creation using Articulate Storyline 360, developed animated videos in Vyond, and honed my video editing skills with Adobe Premiere Pro. My instructional design capabilities were further refined through Devlin Peck’s Instructional Design Bootcamp, where I completed my flagship project, Morale Boost or Bust. In this program, I gained hands-on experience in needs analysis, storyboarding, action mapping, course design and development, implementation, and learner evaluation.

I also contribute to the Rumie learning platform, creating peer-reviewed, 10-minute "Bytes" designed to engage learners through interactive, bite-sized content. This experience allows me to break down complex concepts into digestible pieces for broad audiences.

I recently worked with N2Y, a platform that enhances eLearning for special education and educators. In this role, I developed instructional courses using Rise to assist teachers in navigating the website and building lesson plans. I created custom banners and produced guided videos to enhance each course, ensuring the materials were engaging and user-friendly.

I am passionate about designing courses focusing on experiential learning, encouraging active engagement, problem-solving, and real-world application. Please reach out via email or LinkedIn to discuss your next eLearning project!
